It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
