Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry title that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating violence and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two producers whose work have represented all of those things.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' format by having a fresh location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their steady belief and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of society through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our mutual bold, daring sensibility to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
