Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events this season due to a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
