In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.

The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses

The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Content

Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This release also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
